FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 07/30/2021
Seattle, WA: On July 28, 2021, ABC Legal Services, a nationwide leader in service of process, and Docketly, a top appearance counsel provider, received the National Creditor’s Bar Association (NCBA) Subcontractor Oversight Assessment Certification. ABC Legal and Docketly are two of the first six subcontractors to obtain this new certification. The assessment certification is provided by the NCBA audit partner, Crowe LLP.
The Subcontractor Oversight Program assesses third-party subcontractors for law firms in order to provide NCBA’s members with assurance that the subcontractors are credibly certified for security and internal control environments. ABC Legal and Docketly passed the assessment, demonstrating compliance in areas including vendor contracts, human resource security, information security, customer contact, incident reporting, business continuity (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR), physical security, and insurance.
The assessment is one of the most thorough in the industry and is an essential measurement to gauge subcontractor information security, especially for law firms involved with debt recovery, creditors' rights, and other financial or governmental practices. Brandon Fuller, Chief Technology Officer of ABC Legal and Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Docketly, acknowledges the industry specificity and level of detail of the audit. "This was a worthwhile and necessary audit presented by NCBA to challenge security protocols for the good of all. The audit provided a unique opportunity for us to both define and refine our processes. We hold ourselves to high standards and want to be in alignment with the expectations for, and best practices of, our customers."
The yearly assessment is a program that subcontractors may submit to voluntarily. By submitting to and passing the assessment, ABC Legal and Docketly demonstrate a continued effort to ensure adherence to the highest standards in the legal industry – offering a compliant, secure experience for their clients.
