ABC requires at least two (2) independent confirmations if the address is deemed unserviceable. A second confirmation can be obtained by checking with neighbors or leasing office to confirm information gained from first source.
Do I Need to Do Anything When I Have Completed Diligence and The Job Shows as Pending Review?
If you see a review instruction in ABC Mobile, then we are already looking at the order and you should have a proof to sign or further instructions shortly.
No action is necessary of you at this time.
How Long Does It Take for a Job to Be Reviewed?
Typically, a job can take up to 2 business days to be reviewed. If your job is taking longer than 2 business days, there may be a backlog, and it will be reviewed as soon as possible. Please refrain from reaching out to Process Server Support about the delay, they will not be able to review or resolve the job until the review is completed.
The Leasing Office Won't Confirm Residency, What Do I Do?
If the leasing office or property manager is unwilling to confirm or deny residency, seek alternative methods to verify residency.
This can be considered a good indicator the subject does reside at the address.
What If an Address Is Vacant?
Be sure to log all indicators of vacancy and try to confirm vacancy with another source. Not sure how? Check out Reporting a Vacant Property
What Should I Do When Rules States No Service at a Place of Employment and the Address Is a Business?
Log the information in ABC Mobile by selecting:
- Attempted
- Other
- Service not permitted
The Subject Is Bedridden, Should I Still Serve Them?
Yes. Unless the location of service is one of the following:
- Nursing Homes
- Assisted Living Facilities
- Hospice Care Facilities
If you are informed the subject is bedridden or ill at home and NOT located at the locations mentioned previously, then attempts to serve should resume.
Service may still be conducted if the subject resides in a 55+ community/senior living community.
I Think I Have Completed Diligence, But App States to Continue Attempts? Why Won't It Close?

Do I Have to Attempt Again on a Job That I’ve Previously Bad Addressed in the Past?
Yes, attempts should be made on every new job, even if prior information was obtained on past orders. Previous service attempts from other jobs cannot be used for new jobs at the same address.
Do I Need to Call the Phone Numbers Provided on My Coversheet?
Yes, if a job's coversheet lists phone numbers for the subject, utilize them to log phone attempts in ABC Mobile. Calling these numbers can help gather residency details or arrange a better time and place for service.
I'm Not Able to Attempt an Address Due to Weather Conditions. What Should I Do?
You can log an inclement weather attempt in ABC Mobile.
Do Inclement Weather Attempts Count Towards Diligence?
No! They do not count towards diligence.
What Should I Do If I Find a New Address?
First, record how you got the information by submitting an attempt or a phone log.
Then, before making attempts at the new location, add the address in ABC Mobile. If you are unable to add a new address in the app, it is likely because it’s not allowed.

A Defendant Wants to Meet Me Somewhere. What Should I Do?
First, record how you got the information by submitting an attempt or a phone attempt. Afterwards, enter the address using the "+" icon on the order page.

Why Can I Not Leave Contact Information or Contact the Subject Via Phone?
You might see this customer requirement on an order. Servers should always abide by both customer and court requirements. Consistently meeting these order requirements will result in an improved scorecard.
A Defendant Called Me and Gave Me Additional Information, What Do I Do?
If someone calls you regarding a job, open the job, click the telephone icon to the right of their name, and enter the phone number and information that they gave you.

I Think This Person Is Trying to Avoid Service. What Should I Do?
Document it! Describe exactly what you are seeing in ABC Mobile so that it would be clear to anyone reading your proof that they are avoiding. Making 3 attempts of "No contact." before writing, "I think this person is avoiding" is insufficient. Remember, your proof needs to convince the court and the customer that the person is avoiding.
There Is a "No Trespassing" Sign. Am I Allowed to Serve Them?
Depending on your state specific laws, you may still be able to serve the individual if there a no trespassing signs posted on the property. In the event that there is a "No Trespassing" sign on someone's private property make note of it in your attempt, and make sure to include a picture of the sign in your submission. ⚠️ No Trespassing signs will not result in an automatic non-service, ABC will still require due diligence, including attempting to speak with any neighbors.
What Holidays Should I NOT Serve On?
The only days you can NOT serve with ABC Legal are Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. You are free to serve the other 363 days of the year.
